A glass shower door changes how a bathroom looks and feels, but getting it installed right takes precise measuring, levelling, and sealing. A door that's even slightly off can leak, stick, or crack under pressure. UrbanTasker connects you with local pros who install glass shower doors and enclosures correctly the first time.

What does Shower Glass Installation service cover?

Shower glass installation generally includes:

• Frameless glass shower doors — heavy tempered glass with minimal hardware, a popular upgrade for modern bathrooms
• Framed or semi-framed shower doors — more affordable, with aluminum or metal framing around the glass
• Sliding and pivot doors — fitted to existing tub or shower openings
• Custom shower enclosures — glass panels cut and installed for non-standard shower layouts
• Replacement of cracked, foggy, or outdated shower glass

How much does glass shower door installation cost in Canada?

Cost depends on the glass type, door style, and whether it's a standard or custom size.

• Framed sliding shower door: $400–$800
• Semi-frameless shower door: $700–$1,200
• Frameless glass shower door: $1,000–$2,500
• Custom shower enclosure (non-standard layout): $1,500–$3,500+

Frameless vs. framed Shower Glass: Which should I choose?

Frameless glass doors give a cleaner, more modern look and are easier to keep clean since there's less metal trim for mold and mildew to collect on. They cost more because they use thicker, heavier tempered glass. Framed doors cost less and are a practical choice if you're working with a tighter budget or an older bathroom layout. A tasker can walk you through which option fits your space and budget during a quote.

What should I have ready before my tasker arrives?

• The shower or tub opening dimensions, if known
• Photos of the current enclosure or shower area
• Your preference on frameless, framed, or semi-frameless
• Any specific glass finish (clear, frosted, or textured)
• Access to the bathroom for measuring and installation

Common shower glass problems a pro can fix

• Cracked or chipped glass panels
• Doors that won't slide or seal properly
• Leaking at the base or hinges
• Outdated framed doors ready for a frameless upgrade
• Hard water buildup and cloudy glass beyond cleaning
