Thinking about upgrading your window treatments but not sure where to start? Blinds, shades, and curtains all do the job differently — light control, privacy, insulation, style and picking the wrong hardware or mounting method is one of the most common DIY mistakes homeowners make. UrbanTasker connects you with local pros who install window treatments of every type, properly fitted and finished.

Curtain and Blinds installation - What does this service cover?

This service covers window treatment installation across most common types:

• Blinds — horizontal, vertical, roller, and cellular/honeycomb blinds
• Shades — roman, cordless, and motorized shades
• Curtains — rods, tracks, and hardware for drapes and sheers
• Multi-window and whole-home installs — consistent mounting across several rooms
• Mounting on drywall, trim, tile, or specialty window frames

How much does blinds and curtain installation cost in Canada?

Cost depends on the number of windows, the type of treatment, and whether it's a standard or motorized install.

• Curtain rod installation (per window): $30–$75
• Standard blinds or shades installation (per window): $40–$100
• Motorized blinds or shades installation (per window): $100–$250
• Whole-home install (multiple windows): priced per window with a discount for volume

Post your task with the number of windows and the type of treatment to get accurate quotes from local taskers.

Pricing shown here is a general guide. Final cost depends on your location, window count, and the tasker you choose. Always confirm the price before work begins.

Why hire a pro instead of installing blinds or curtains yourself?

Getting brackets level across multiple windows, finding secure anchor points in drywall or tile, and making sure motorized blinds are wired correctly all take more precision than they look like they need. A pro brings the right drill bits, anchors, and levelling tools to avoid a crooked install or stripped screws, and can work through an entire home's windows in a fraction of the time a DIY job takes.

What should I have ready before my tasker arrives?

• The window treatments themselves (blinds, shades, curtains, and hardware)
• The number of windows and rooms involved
• Whether any treatments are motorized and need power nearby
• Your wall type if known (drywall, tile, or specialty trim)
• Any preference on mounting height or inside/outside the window frame

Common window treatment problems a pro can fix

• Blinds or curtain rods installed crooked or loose
• Brackets that pulled out of drywall or tile
• Motorized blinds that aren't wired or paired correctly
• Treatments that don't fit the window size properly
• Old hardware that needs replacing before a new install
